Job Summary:

Serve as the Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) in planning, developing and implementing U.S. Government, SwRI security policies, procedures and programs; analyze government, customer, SwRI and Division security requirements. Propose and implement appropriate solutions. Manage functions of the SwRI Insider Threat Program as directed by the SwRI Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), to include, but not limited to, counterintelligence and data analysis. Receive, review, maintain, and log incoming/outgoing classified documents in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other Government agency directives. Conduct training and orientation of employees and Division Security Representatives on Government and SwRI policies and procedures. Provide support to SwRI staff relevant to producing classified material. Manage other security databases as directed by the Security Manager/FSO. Assist in reviewing incoming "Contract Security Classification Specifications" and other contract security documents. Conduct internal Division inspections to ensure NISPOM and other Government agency security directives compliance. Be able to stand in for the Security Manager/FSO/ITPSO when they are not available. Perform other duties as assigned by the Security Manager/FSO. Must have an active security clearance. Duties may require being on-call and after hours/weekend work.


Requires a BS degree in Business, Management, Security (industrial/Government), Criminology, Risk Management, Public Administration or related. Training and knowledge in Security, Counterintelligence, Criminology, Intelligence Community Directives, or Management is preferred. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have at least 7 years of experience in Government security experience in NISPOM, SAP, DCID 6/9 or Intelligence Community Directives, classified program administration, Program and plans development, Insider threat program, antiterrorism program or counterintelligence. Knowledge of classified industrial security processes and procedures is required. Insider Threat programs or counterintelligence knowledge is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills is required. Must be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to work independent of close supervision. Ability to work outside of normal business hours as the situation dictates is required. An active Top-Secret clearance is required. Experience as a Security Police/Security Forces/Master at Arms/Military Police Operations Officer/Superintendent; proficiency in Microsoft Office, JPAS, NISS, DISS; ISP®, PSP or CPP certifications desired. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
