Who We Are:

The Institute Calibration Laboratory is a section of the Institute Quality Systems department. We support Institute R&D divisions, service departments, and commercial clients. The mission of the Institute Calibration Laboratory is to provide calibration services of measuring and test equipmet.

Objectives of this Role:

• The purpose of this role is to support SWRI measurement and test equipment (M&TE) for all Divisions and departments.This is accomplished through assisting current technicians at the Institute Calibration Laboratory.
• The calibration of SWRI M&TE provides accurate, repeatable, and traceable testing results for SWRI Divisions.
• The calibration of SWRI M&TE provides traceability and proper documentation for the various SWRI quality programs to be accredited to international quality standards, such as ISO 17025 and ISO 9001.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Assist in metrological principals and quality standards reviews.
• Assist in statistical analysis of measurements.
• Assist in the use and operation of measurement and test equipment.
• Assist the current technicians at the Institute Calibration Laboratory in the performance of calibrations to measurement and test equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory working standards and equipment, as directed by Institute Calibration Laboratory staff.

Requirements:

• Must be pursuing an Associates degree in Mechanical or Electronic systems or related degree field.
• Coursework in physics and mathematics or related is preferred. On the job training provided.
• Use of measurement and test equipment. On the job training provided.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
