Objectives of this Role:

• Work with a team of engineers and technicians to provide hands-on support for experimental testing businesses involved in creating field-realistic process conditions (pressure, temperature, fluids) in controlled test environments.
• Provide support in the setup and operation of custom test facilities.
• Provide real-world, hands-on insight and experience to improve test and facility operations.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Install and remove piping components and assemblies, Lead the assembling and disassembling of test fixtures and mechanical hardware; load, unload, move materials and equipment for operations; drive Institute vehicles and forklifts; operate cranes and other lifts.
• Lead the servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and fluid handling equipment.
• Lead the installation and wiring of instrumentation.
• Support operations of and act as an operator for elevated-pressure flow loop test facilities.
• Communicate with SwRI team members, customers, and vendors regarding work status, progress, problems/solutions, and results.
• Lead continuous operational and safety improvement processes while working in a team environment with a collaborative approach.

Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years: Skilled with mechanical tools, general laboratory equipment, and piping systems
• 5-15 years: Related mechanical experience (examples include equipment repair, plumbing, plant/process/oilfield operations, HVAC, automotive/engine repair, etc.).
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
