Who We Are:

Our group provides outstanding aircraft structural engineering, maintenance and sustainment service for aircraft and aerospace vehicles. The group at Hill AFB, Utah provides support to our USAF clients. This role will provide support to engineering and maintenance at depots and field units.

Objectives of this Role:

• Provide management and clients guidance on the following: expert structural technical, and system logistical and sustainment support for repair, maintenance, operation, and training related to aircraft systems and equipment. Interpreting and writing technical data.
• Develop technical data modification procedures for specified systems.
• Evaluates, selects and approves support equipment required to test, maintain, overhaul or manufacture.
• Analyzes system, maintenance, operation, sustainment data and information, to investigate system support.
• Review technical data to determine past performance and any previous corrective action initiated.
• Determines field or command level inquiries, depot level or manufactures analysis, if problem is serious enough to warrant corrective action.
• Evaluates solutions for effectivity.
• Determines need for and prepares, technical orders based on periodic review and retirement of obsolete technical orders on file pertinent to acquisition programs, maintenance installation, overhaul, inspection and operation of assigned system/equipment.
• Prepares reports, briefings, and recommendations to USAF clients, management, engineers, and others, concerning systems, equipment, sustainment, logistical problems, and operations and training. Participates in technical reviews and conferences to provide advice as required.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Determine, for engineering and management, corrective action necessary, or mitigation and forwards to cognizant engineering for evaluation and recommendations.
• Provide document justification for changes as well as prepares and submits maintenance actions as required.
• Technical orders preparation entails determining requirements for and preparing, or having prepared, sketches, illustrations, charts, tables diagrams, photographs, and other material necessary to be included.
• Guide or assist in troubleshooting and repairing difficult and unusual problems.
• Provide technical solutions and recommends changes to maintenance, operation, fielding, sustainment, and logistics practices, processes, and policies.
• Coordinates with engineering and maintenance to identify and resolve technical issues associated with aircraft systems maintenance.
• As required, reviews, revises, develops initial technical publications.
• Work with depot and field units providing experience to integrate between maintenance and engineering as required.
• Stay informed of latest state-of-the-art equipment, processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Aircraft maintenance and technical data development courses or training
• Specific training in USAF maintenance procedures is highly desired
• Previous experience as an aircraft equipment specialist helpful
• Familiarization with Work Unit Codes and/or How Malfunctioned Codes is beneficial
• 10 years: Skill in conducting, and/or executing, and/or following the process, procedures, and policies related to the functional tasks and activities required of a system-level equipment specialist Interpreting engineering instructions into technical data for maintenance
• Ability to read, understand and interpret system and equipment level technical, sustainment, acquisition, and logistical data, information, and metrics
• Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and understanding technical data
• Knowledge of the specialized operational, functional and theoretical properties and characteristics for application to difficult, unusual, and unprecedented situations and problems related to sustainment and acquisition of assigned systems and equipment
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data and, identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
