Who We Are:

Program Managers in the Strategic Aerospace Department of the Defense & Intelligence Solutions Division manage projects involving the design, development, and maintenance of hardware and software systems for the strategic aerospace community, including aircraft and ground support equipment ranging from microcircuits to major subsystems.

Objectives of this Role:

• Serve as a technical project manager to a diversified engineering, technician, and administrative team for avionics modernization programs of moderate to complex technical scope from program inception through hardware/software development, implementation, testing, and support.
• Maintain strong organizational and innovative skills and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams in the successful development, implementation and delivery of moderate to complex avionics systems involving hardware, system engineering, and software development.
• Report to the department director and assist with the development of strategic objectives and technical vision for program growth, expansion of business, client cultivation, and identification of needed facility enhancements and staffing needs.
• Apply business development experience, including interacting with clients to promote avionics modernization programs, proposal preparation, and development of long term programs.
• Lead a team of production engineers and technicians supporting the manufacturing of flight computers and various avionics certified circuit card assemblies.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Provide management and leadership of avionics modification programs involving hardware and software development, system engineering, fabrication, test and support for U.S. Government clients.
• Provide support of business development efforts including interaction with clients to define requirements and develop SOWs, preparation of white papers and RFI responses, and development of proposals.
• Successfully manage the triple constraint for hardware/software development projects, including preparing/tracking budgets using earned value management, management of technical scope , & use of MS Excel & MS Project scheduling to manage milestone cost & deliverables.
• Travel two weeks a month, minimum, to U.S. locations to attend program reviews, technical interchange meetings, design reviews and marketing meetings.
• Plan, organize, lead, and coordinate the activities of project technical and administrative support staff in support of both development and production programs.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; other STEM degree fields may be considered with relevant Air Force Embedded Avionics Project Management engineering experience
• Direct relevant Air Force acquisition and project management experience is preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred
• 15 years: Must have experience with project management and leadership of engineering programs of >$3M each in defense related applications, including management of diverse Air Force avionics Modernization and Sustainment programs along with avionics production programs.
• Experience in the development, promotion and expansion of technical programs in the defense industry >$3M, including leading and preparing successful technical proposals, budgetary estimates, RFI responses and technical white papers for defense related technology
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Project to support detailed program financial analysis and support earned value management tracking for programs of responsibility.
