Job Summary:

Join our Space Science and Engineering Division as a Principal Technician. Perform cable and harness fabrication to flight aerospace and IPC standards. Perform electronic circuit board fabrication to flight aerospace and IPC standards. Assemble circuit boards and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering. Install wires, leads and a variety of thru-hole components with a demonstrated proficiency in soldering. Use hand and power tools such as soldering irons, de-soldering equipment, solder removal tools, cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, and scopes. Lead forming of different types of electronic parts using hand tools and automatic equipment. Work from mechanical and electrical documents including PCB assembly drawings, schematics and related documents and document all work performed. Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness. Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time and regularly perform work that requires magnification. Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area. Follow safety guidelines. Correct, update and generate Division Operating Procedures as needed. Day shift position with occasional need to work evenings and weekends based on project schedule requirements.


Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 10-15 years of PCB assembly, soldering, electronic wiring or related experience. An AA degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Equipment Repair and Maintenance, or related is preferred and may be considered in lieu of some work experience. Preferred skills include: Knowledge of standard electronic assembly procedures. Knowledge of electronic components. Electrostatic Discharge handling training/certification. IPC-J-Standard 610 training/certification. NASA 8739 training/certification. Six Sigma principles and process control. Ability to understand mechanical and electrical documents including drawings, schematics and operating manuals required. Problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting required. Meticulous attention to detail required. Strong computer skills and MS Office required. The ability to function with limited supervision as a contributing member of a fabrication team is required. Shift work required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
