TECHNICIAN - ELECTRONICS

Job Summary:

Perform electronic circuit board fabrication to flight aerospace and IPC standards. Assemble circuit boards and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering. Install wires, leads, and a variety of thru-hole components with a demonstrated proficiency in soldering. Use hand and power tools such as soldering irons, de-soldering equipment, solder removal tools, cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, and scopes. Ability to identify various electronic components. Lead forming of different types of electronic parts using hand tools and automatic equipment. Operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area. Follow safety guidelines. Correct, update, and generate Division Operating Procedures as needed. Will be working in a team environment. Day shift position with occasional need to work evenings and weekends based on project schedule requirements.

Education/Experience:

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 1-5 years of printed circuit board assembly or hand soldering experience. AS degree or courses in Electronics, Manufacturing or related is preferred, and may be considered in lieu of some work experience. Electronics Training or certifications are a plus. Preferred skills include: Knowledge of standard electronic assembly procedures, knowledge of electronic components, Electrostatic Discharge handling training/certification, IPC-J-Standard 610 training/certification, NASA 8739 training/certification, Six Sigma principles and/or process control. Problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting skills are required. Meticulous attention to detail is required. Ability to understand mechanical and electrical documents including PCB assembly drawings, schematics and related documents is required. Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness. Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods of time and regularly perform work that requires magnification is required. Strong computer skills and MS Office required. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
