Job Summary:

Join the Space Science and Engineering Division as a Sr. Technician! Perform electronic circuit board fabrication to flight aerospace standards. Be responsible for the set-up, operation and adjustment of automated Surface Mount Component manufacturing equipment and optical inspection equipment. Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems. Perform work based on structured work instructions and document all work performed. Inspect and monitor in process circuit boards for quality, proper solder paste printing, component placement and solder reflow. Work with Process Engineering to develop and qualify new processes and new equipment installations. Correct, update, and generate Division Operating Procedures as needed.


Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 or more years of electronic circuit board assembly and automated equipment experience. Certifications, courses, or an AA degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Equipment Repair and Maintenance, or related is preferred, and may be considered in lieu of some work experience. The ability to function as a contributing member of a fabrication team is required. Problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting required. Meticulous attention to detail is required. Ability to understand mechanical and electrical documents including drawings, schematics and operating manuals required. Electromechanical maintenance and repair required. Strong computer skills and MS Office required, Linux preferred. Preferred skills include: knowledge of standard electronic assembly procedures. Knowledge of electronic components, electrostatic Discharge handling training/certification. IPC-J-Standard 610 training/certification. NASA 8739 training/certification. Mycronic/Mydata training/certification. Six Sigma principles and process control. A valid/clear driver's license is required.

Special Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident due to ITAR work in section.
