Objectives of this Role:

• Be a motivated team member in precision assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems with tight fit and tolerances.
• Review project instructions, specifications, and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives for fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Lead others technicians in self-directed projects in mechanical assembly, instrumentation and equipment operation.
• Current Secret, TS or TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Review project instructions, specifications, and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives for fabrication, assembly and testing.
• Maintain an active security clearance.
• Have ability to read and use programs for operating assembled units to tune and qualify for final testing
• Inspect parts for manufacturing defects and adherence to tolerances; set up and operate various machines for mechanical assembly which may include presses, grinders, hand tools and power tools.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of assembly machines, tools, and test equipment; set up and conduct tests and inspections of complete systems and components; label and package products for shipment; confer with vendors and engineers regarding inspection results.
• Recommend corrective procedures; report results, recommendations, and needed repairs; mark items for acceptance or rejection; record test results and inspection data; compare findings with specifications to ensure conformance to standards.
• Operate test stands to tune and qualify.

Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical assembly/maintenance experience required.
• 2+ years: Technical education, training, and/or experience. Experience with hand tools and be interested in expanding mechanical skills. Experience using simple programs to operate assembled units.
• Mechanical ability, dexterity, and attention to detail. Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, and lift (lift with assistance over 50lbs) for extended periods; ability to wear personal protective equipment.
• Limited travel may be required to deliver and setup products. Current Secret, TS or TS/SCI security clearance is highly desired.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
