SPECIALIST - SR. SPECIALIST - PRICING

Who We Are:

The Pricing Group within the Contracts Department adheres to an approved Cost Estimating System to oversee the generation of proposal cost estimates and other financial services necessary to successfully submit bids to various clients and support research and development projects.

Objectives of this Role:

• Collaborate with the Contract Specialist, technical proposal management, other administrative departments and the Pricing Specialist team in the preparation of timely, accurate and complete cost proposals for government and industry clients.
• Review solicitations (RFP/RFO/IFB/FOA/AO, etc) and client instructions to determine cost proposal requirements.
• Provide interpretation of solicitation requirements.
• Coordinate requirement clarification and proposal timeline with the cross-functional proposal team.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Develop cost and pricing strategies, and proposal materials in accordance with customer instructions, SwRI policies/procedures/cost accounting standards, and government cost estimating regulations; collaborates with proposal team during proposal negotiation.
• Utilize cost and pricing-specific software, ProPricer, as well  as complex MS Excel-based templates and formats, both internally developed, as well as those provided by clients, to generate accurate, and  responsive cost proposal data and reports.
• Prepare ad-hoc requests for cost and pricing/budget information as requested by management or technical division staff to assist in the management of existing programs; organize and maintain files, templates and supporting documentation for negotiation, reference and audit.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors with a 3.00 GPA in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Math or related field; other degree fields may be considered with related industry experience Specialized  Training,  Licenses  or  Certificates.
• Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently, with all levels of Institute staff
• High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat, Strong mathematical, logical and analytical skills/aptitude with demonstrated application of critical thinking to solve novel problems
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple efforts under tight deadlines with routinely shifting priorities and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work both autonomously and as an integral team member
• Must demonstrate initiative/self-motivation and eagerness to learn
• 2-10 years: Experience in advanced budget analysis and development, experience with government cost accounting and/or contractual document/business agreement review and interpretation as related to cost proposals
• High degree of proficiency with complex spreadsheet structures and reporting
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
