SR. RESEARCH ENGINEER

Who We Are:

Providing design, development, and analysis on components, engines, transmissions, and vehicles, we also support research and modeling for fuel mixing, combustion, filtration, and fluid flow analysis. We are pioneers in measuring engine and vehicle exhaust emissions.

Objectives of this Role:

• Participate in the development of new and innovative concepts to utilize catalysts and emission control systems to enable improved fuel efficiency and/or reduced criteria pollutant emissions from internal combustion engines.
• Manage and execute projects in the area of catalyst and emissions control system research and development.
• Develop test plans to evaluate new hardware or identify fundamental interactions of feed gas stream and catalytic devices. Conduct laboratory testing involved engine dynamometer investigations as well as bench test facilities.
• . Conduct comprehensive data analysis and provide clear and concise summaries to clients and/or technical management. Troubleshoot and resolve test stand problems.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Must have a Master’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• Must have 4 years of post-baccalaureate experience with emission control design, development, integration and calibration
• The 4 years of experience must include managing large scale research programs; commercialization of emission control systems; project management using Microsoft Project and Minitab tools; engine test cell operation; laboratory based evaluation of catalytic devices; emission control devices such as three-way catalysts, oxidation catalysts, wall flow particulate filters, and selective catalytic reduction catalysts; LabVIEW or MATLAB/Simulink; controls system development; and GT Power or AVL Boost
