Objectives of this Role:

• Manage a team of engineers and mechanical technicians performing applied research in various fields.
• Research topic areas include water management, energy (conventional, renewable, and alternative), hydrogen applications, and the space industry.
• Establish and implement strategic objectives and technical vision for program growth, expansion of business, quality and safety of operations, facilities enhancement, staff development and client cultivation.
• Maintain existing and develop new business through networking, customer engagement, strategic planning, and proposal writing.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of project managers and their research project portfolio.
• Implement continuous professional development of the engineers, technicians, and administrative staff in the section.
• Conduct business development through networking, writing proposals, leading research, and building new business opportunities in emerging technologies related to a broad range of fluid-related applications.
• Oversee the completion of research projects for a mix of government and commercial clients.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors with a 3.20 GPA in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related with related experience
• 5 years: Engineering and program management/personnel management experience.
• Experience in leading and preparing successful technical and budgetary proposals
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information and employee performance management feedback
• Desire to make a positive impact on the community through developing research aimed at solving some of our most-pertinent problems
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
