LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIST - SR. ENGR. TECHNOLOGIST - SYSTEMS ENG. REQUIREMENTS & VERIFICATION

Objectives of this Role:

• Juggle multiple ongoing projects and serve in a support role led by the Systems Engineering team on a project, specifically Requirements and Verification.
• Follow project and subsystem requirements from development through verification planning and closure phases of the project lifecycle.
• Working as an R&V (Requirements and Verification) Lead.
• This is a support role as part of the project Systems Engineering team. Includes interfacing across multiple disciplines on a NASA mission or missions from another space agency.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Lead requirements development, tracking and verification for NASA missions, science instruments and avionics via the use of a requirements database tool such as DOORS.
• Derive requirements directly from mission proposals, heritage instruments, and input from the Subsystem Leads.
• Maintain good communication skills required for interfacing with the customer, scientists, engineers, and project management.
• Drive the development of requirement specifications including interface specifications.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree with a 3.00 GPA in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Those without a BS degree must have 25 years of related experience (to include 6 years of professional level experience)
• 6-10 years: Related experience working with NASA as a Requirements/Verification or Systems Support
• Must have experience as a Requirements Lead or Verification Lead in the development of mission and/or science instrument requirements with follow-through to verification
• Experience with the use of the DOORS database or similar requirements database. If not DOORS, must be familiar with configuration control of requirements
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
