ASSOCIATE SPECIALIST - SPECIALIST - TECHNICAL DOCUMENT & MANAGEMENT

Who We Are:

The Intelligent Transportation Systems team for the Critical Systems Department develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients for transportation management, data infrastructure, and transportation technology systems.

Objectives of this Role:

• Help to improve the safety and mobility of our roadways through deploying advanced systems and technology through task coordination, tracking, and support, document management and development, event planning, and other activities as needed.
• Collaborate with staff in the systems engineering discipline in the transportation and cybersecurity industries and lead projects related to project material development, technical writing, and other special projects.
• Work closely with staff to assist in ensuring that deadlines are met.
• Occasional after-hours work required.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Assisting with and coordinating various project tasks and tracking them to completion.
• Apply strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff/visitors/clients.
• Development of project materials.
• Copy-writing and copy editing in support of various technical documents such as technical user manuals, reports, test plans, presentations, etc. and for promotional documents.
• Will also be responsible for clerical formatting and grammar proofing for key technical documents related to our projects.
• Development of graphics including images and pictures in support of technical and promotional documents and materials.
• Assist with online research for project troubleshooting tasks.

Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelors degree with a 3.00 GPA in Business, English, Communications, Journalism or related with directly related industry experience
• Those without a BS degree should have 5 years of professional level experience with related certifications in journalism or technical writing or related
• 0-2 years: Knowledge and experience should emphasize marketing and communication
• 0-2 years: Background or skills in marketing material development, event facilitation, professional communication (writing, marketing, software project material development, etc.), technical research
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint also required
• Must possess organizational skills, work well with others, detail oriented, and ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Requires strong writing, attention to detail, grammar proofing, document formatting, and management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word required
• A valid/clear driver's license is required
