Job Summary:

Provide sample preparation and analytical support for the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry department. Perform organic extractions under a variety of regulated programs and a variety of sample matrices. Maintain complete laboratory records. Schedule tasks to meet several concurrent projects. Communicate effectively with lab supervisor and project managers to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met. Provide training to others once procedures are mastered. Assist the laboratory supervisor with administrative tasks. Learn analytical instrumentation.


Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 5-10 years of related lab experience. Some college chemistry is preferred. Must have computer skills in applications such as laboratory equipment and practices, excel spreadsheets, word and other office programs. Requires strong communication skills to include writing scientific reports, maintaining laboratory notebooks, communicating effectively verbally, and in writing with project managers, peers, supervisors, and management. Requires the ability to work effectively and safely in a laboratory environment. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
